I have a sense of immortalizing what would generally not warrant a second glance. My work focuses on objects that many of us would either discard or shy away from.
Spiders, their webs and prey are captured between 35mm glass slides. I then enlarge this to display structures and details often not visible to the naked eye. Focusing on material from our natural world I create delicate prints, producing works on paper, plaster, resin and glass.
In this time of haste I want to create a little sensation of time, make us realize what we may be missing. It may be small and appear insignificant, but on closer viewing there is an awakening of our senses, be they fear or awe at the beauty of these images.
